UNFORGETTABLE ENCOUNTERS WITH ORPHANED ELEPHANTS IN KENYA
June 03rd – 11th, 2016
Book early, only 6 places available!
This private and unique tour is intended to raise awareness for the conservation work of the highly acclaimed, David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, (DSWT), whose base is in Nairobi, Kenya. The Trust’s authentic conservation work of rescue, rehabilitation, and release of Elephants and Rhinoceros is second to none. Information about the work of the Trust can be found on their website: www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org
This tour offers a rare and intimate opportunity to personally engage with rescued young Elephants who have lost their mothers due to ivory poaching, or in some cases, have fallen into deep wells, resulting in the distraught mother and the herd having to abandon them after fruitless rescue attempts.
We will visit the most recently rescued orphaned Elephants at the Trust's Nairobi nursery, and then on to Tsavo East National Park, where the older orphans are preparing to return to the wild under the careful guidance of the Trust’s experienced Keepers.
To join this private tour, and to stay in the Sheldrick’s personal camp at Ithumba Hill, you are required to foster an Orphaned Elephant for US$50.00 per year. Please go to this web page: http://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/asp/fostering.asp
